BACKGROUND BRIEFING NOTES
1.0 – WBM’s website notes:
The World Book Market (WBM) is set to release its highly-acclaimed bookseller database/inventory management system to booksellers around the world as “freeware” i.e. to download and use this database will not cost a bookseller a penny for use of the software. Launch date for this public domain database is scheduled at Feb 28th, 2011.

The database (called WBM-BB for World Book Market Book Base) is considered by many of its current bookseller-users to be the most sophisticated and powerful multi-site-servicing desktop database in the world. Many of its users have indicated that in their opinion this is a bookseller database which actually increases their earnings significantly at all their sites, but most particularly at Amazon.

Until now, the WBM-BB has been distributed free exclusively to WBM members, who pay a monthly fee of around $US 30/month to gain access to a wide range of software routines and utilities which assists them list more efficiently at all their bookselling sites. Our database is just one such tool in our kit.

The WBM-BB database is fully stand-alone and requires no external software to run. It may be installed on as many computers as a user wishes. It is entirely portable, and can be run off a data stick as well as a fixed hard drive.

Also being distributed free with this software is the WBM’s unique Homebase Converter, which automatically converts Homebase 2.3 data from its current mangled output format into coherent tab-delimited files, ready for immediate and automated import in to the WBM-BB database (and/or other software applications).
